WDC's 1.7 drive is not MR. I don't believe anyone is having problems with the 2.1 GB MR programs.

>>So let me get this straight...<< Lawrence, why bother? The market moves in inscrutable ways. It's not your place to reason why, but to do and die.

On a happier note, I have already been killed by APM, QNTM, and WDC. I am no longer among the walking wounded, but among the walking dead. So the price declines in APM, QNTM, and WDC no longer have the power to inflict any further damage (I sold out on Black Monday Junior, Oct 27, 1997, with mucho losses).

>Is the 1.7 made by APM?

Yes. Watch closely... the franchise is disintegrating in real-time. (just like SEG for the
past few months)
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Do you mean that APM will drop even further in price, because their franchise is disintegrating?

That's almost what I was thinking. But how can a small investor profit from this?

I tried to short APM this morning, and was told by my broker they didn't have any shares available to short.

I believe that brokers are normally more than happy when a client shorts a stock. Not only does the broker get a commission, but the broker makes money off the short sale balance until the short position is closed.

And I believe the short position on APM is huge.

So what is going on?
---------------------------------------
On a different note, do you think it's too late in the day to short APM?

Regards,

-LK

Trying to get back some of what I lost by being long these */@#%*((()))**** disk drive stocks.

Lawrence -

QNTM has done very well with the 1.6.... But why are they
so late with the 2.1? They are the last major manu to get into vol prod. Is that on purpose? Did they just know that the 2.1 would not be as easy $$$? I'm curious on your thoughts on how/why they;ve timed it like that.

Also, what is the next gen, 2.8? When do you think we'll start seeing those?
