So then were you able to get out in time during 2000 and then again in 2007?

I took substantial hits both times, bigger than I should have allowed, but my performance on the rebounds was so far ahead of the markets that I am not that far from my all-time 2007 highs now. Almost hit a new high earlier this spring before the latest dump.

Buy and hold can work if you have a strong sense of value and minimal market-timing skills (which I am working to improve this year).

If I can be right 70-75% of the time and limit my losses in the rest, I can make good coin even in a "lost decade" market.
