FYI- despite what crypto righties would like to fabricate, people in the US still see unions fairly positively- despite the barrage of stupid, and often totally inaccurate, garbage, floating in from the cesspools of wingerland:

Well many people like to be led by shop stewards, business managers, et al. The evil is that the union environment typically sets up a performance standard that discourages individual performance. All the best employees I have ever had work with me were ex union workers who could not stand carrying the load for other low performers.

Everywhere I have worked the union wages set the floor for the employees I hired.

Without some unions the other evil, stupid management would have a better chance of screwing around wages and benefits.

Evil also that many unions take their benefits for the most senior people at the expense of the younger workers. Evil that many unions have mismanaged their pension and benefit funds.

So I would see unions in many cases as a necessary evil against stupid management.
