barry, i figured that this may be short covering on friday afternoon
by scared bears ... it will probably take a long time for analysts
to figure out just what intel is worth.

isn't it better NOT to figure out and know that maybe in 2yrs we
will be much higher then today.

i m certainly not going to be fired by my family to bring in a
lousy proifts for one-two qurters. At least, we know intel
is in business to stay.

Who wants to sell at this point and give 30% to irs?
unless u r doing tax loss selling.

Barry, thanks for the synopsis. Also, thanks for the clarification of "inventory correction". I thought Intel was referring to Pentiums without MMx and low-end laptop chips, but your interpretation means that new orders were "delayed" until existing inventory was sold. Makes sense.

re:Intel confirmed that they do no think that cheap pc's are expanding the market

Can you clarify this? So, are the people buying these cheap PCs 2nd time buyers instead of 1st-time buyers? It seems negative, but I want to make sure.
