Well, we were calling the top in the RE bubble HERE! I sold my CA house near the top. We all knew Fannie and Freddie were toast. We openly wondered WHY they were buying all those crappy subprime loans, still warm from being in the originator's pocket.

But, other than the perennial Cassandras, I don't recall anyone calling for Global Econopocalypse coming from the US housing bubble. Once started, it was like an avalanche.

Yeah, delay and pray - it's all we can do now. It may not work, but it had to be tried. Not much has been done about the $500 trillion+ derivative time bomb - it's still out there.

There's always socialism..
