This "BP lobbied for release of Lockerbie bomber" story is getting confused by the disaster in The Gulf of Mexico. I think our argument here is with the govt. of Tony Blair. Did he release the bomber to get gas concessions off Libya? Did George Bush know all the details about it?

Of course BP would be involved. That is the British oil co. They would be operating the concession. They probably wanted the deal very badly, as did Bush, but Britain wanted it most. My guess is that BP's involvement is very slight and the British Govt's is very large. Bush also wanted at least one rogue Muslim state to stand up and say "we won't practice terrorism no more" after his you're with us or you're against us speech. But would he agree to the release of the bomber to get that fake announcement from Libya? I like to think not, but you never know with this guy.
