George Steinbrenner is dead at 80. Somebody once laughed at me and said "you know everyone." I do know a lot of people and have met others I don't really know, but I have seen even more I don't know or have even met. George Steinbrenner was one of those. I was staying at the Vista Hotel and was walking in a tunnel to The World Trade Center and Salomon Brothers Headquarters. And, there, at a turn in the hall, stood Howard Cossell with a mic in his hand talking to Steinbrenner and a cameraman shooting them both (shooting them was a good idea in my mind back then). I made sure to get on camera and then moved on. <G>

The reason I think of this is that Howard is dead, Steinbrenner is dead and The World Trade Center and the Vista Hotel are dead. Must have been an unlucky hall corner.
