> We have people getting unemployment who are standing on street corners begging for work.

No, those people are employed as beggars. And in some cases, if they get a really good spot, make more money than you ever will.

I'm sorry. I forget where you head is at. These people are standing on corners not begging for money but begging for a job. They have signs that explain their backgrounds. One woman has copies of her resume she provides as handouts.

> The average unemployment check in the U.S. is $293. That's $12K a year.

But they're also getting free health care (Medicaid), Earned Income Credit, Food Stamps and other freebies that have to be given up if they go to work.

As I pointed out, it is a matter of public policy. That some recipients, or even most, are motivated to give up the money and work, is a totally immaterial point.

This is why the South is so backwards. You will come up with whatever it takes to justify your position even when it doesn't make sense. And the sad part about all of it........instead of going after the rich who are screwing you, you go after the little people and only make things worse. Your thinking is all messed up but you are so convinced you are right........its become a closed loop and you never let new info enter that might cause you to change your position.

This is your level of thinking:

Update: This afternoon on Fox, Angle took her craziness to a whole new level. Even Fox host Neil Cavuto appeared stunned by her lunacy.

The short version is that Sharron Angle is not only attacking Harry Reid for saving thousands of jobs on the Las Vegas Strip, she's effectively pledging that if she's elected to the U.S. Senate, she would never do anything that could help save jobs. Why wouldn't she do that? Because, she says, saving jobs is "like shifting the chairs on the deck of the Titanic."

"But they're also getting free health care (Medicaid)"

Maybe.

" Earned Income Credit"

No. You need income to get EIC. But, you know that.

"Food Stamps"

That is true. Although it can take a while to qualify.

"and other freebies that have to be given up if they go to work."

I haven't known anyone who wouldn't give up assistance to have a real job. But, I guess I don't hang out with freeloaders like you do.
