Echoes of 2000, updated. We spent several weeks going sideways before things got in motion to the downside. However, wave three basically launched in mid-July. If it's more a matter of calendar timing, then we could be very close. The structures aren't the same, but the periodicity rhymes quite well, down to the flash crash and the three-wave corrective behavior that followed:

patron,

Let us know when you put on the weight.

All Buffett-like book-talking aside, I'm getting pretty sick of this bs, but as usual, I'll wait these clowns out. My short position is small, but when I see them jamming the futures on AA results that were taken down several times, you know the fix is in play.

This market is completely disconnected from reality. They had some clown on CNBS today saying that 60,000 private job adds this year was a turn. That is turn? No, that is just unsound bull Kool-Aide staining your gray matter purple.

They are going to do everything possible to wack the clownbuck. I've noticed a significant increase in heads talking smack about the relative ugliness of the clownbuck. Right now, the Euro has the bigger fleas.

We'll see when they juice the futures overnight. That may bring in volume. AA beat earnings that had been lowered. Time-honored WS move. CSX is probably a bigger story than AA.

I shorted some XME today in anticipation of a down move on AA. May cover in the AM if we exceed Friday's high. OTOH, China's dumping their excess, high cost steel here (new story, huh). Coal prices are down. Copper looks like it's bottomed for now, but still huge inventories, at least in London. BDI down since the Pleistocene. So, any AA/rail/materials rally on tonight's earnings may be short-lived.
