And of course the vast majority of those studying, and doing research on evolution don't have dogs in the fight... and they aren't involved in any "judgements" about purpose. A few of them only get involved when folks want to teach things not addressed by science... in science class.

"Purpose" is an interesting topic of course and a much more appropriate arena for the current Dog fight than the topic of "evolution"... a term only brought into the fight by the 2 "fringes". As the article pointed out... there is NO dispute about "evolution"... it's only (as the article points out) when one makes it: "Evolution vs Creationism"... which of course includes one side which science never has addressed.
