The truly sad situation is that so called "progressives" are, in truth, regressives, holding on to the discredited belief that the power of the state, rather than the freedom of the individual, is the correct path to the future. The history of 20th century exposed the hideous fallacy of statism, in its varied flavors, and where embracing it inevitably leads to, for anyone with eyes open enough to see. Gads, I guess a lot of Republicans are stuck in the 1850's. Unfortunately there is just about nothing left to exploit from the planet, no undiscovered lands to rape. I guess these folks are going to have to think of something else to steal. No island left in the sky. The "Wild West days" are over James.
