For the most part, the fed. gov't has stopped taking a proactive stance when it comes to creating new industry.

The Dems had a chance to do that with our energy industry. In fact, I voted for Obama and straight ticket Dem in 2008 so that they would transform our oil based economy into something different. But in typical Dem fashion, they let the GOP bully them and they didn't do it. That's why they are now losing the centrists and independents. They have been a big disappointment. So we're going to be a hung nation as far into the future as I can see.


Read the Andy Grove article I posted to you. According to him, its way too late to have a stake in the energy industry. We should have started at least ten years ago.

However, there are other new industries that gov't can seed.
