MM, we are a democracy. If Obama forced Rs to vote a particular way, then it would be a dictatorship. The important takeaway is that the Rs want Obama and this country to fail. Sinclair Lewis said facism will come to this country wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross. His words have never been more true than they are today. You worry about the economic recovery..........I am terrified over the state of our democracy. Rs have moved way over into facist territory and they present a serious threat to our freedoms. I am not joking and I am not normally a paranoid person. The GOP has gotten worse since Bush left office. We sure do need courage and that courage should start with Obama and the Dems. They should accept legislation that works and not accept just whatever the GOP will let them have. That's where courage needs to begin. My courage will extend to voting against the Dems and Obama if they don't do what they promised and not making excuses for them along the way.
