Well, I'll go you one further. Every governor of the states surrounding the Gulf are Republican and every one of them pushed hard for offshore drilling and got it. Every one of them is complicit in the soft to non-existent regulation of oil drilling off their coasts. And yet, when it blew up in their faces, they blamed Obama.

Again, you don't have to sell me on the hypocrisy of the GOP. I know it. The evidence is overwhelming. My beef, though, is that the Dems haven't used their mandate to get much done. They spend more time bemoaning the corruption of the GOP, instead of doing good things for this country. In addition, the big things they have done for the economy (read Keynesian policies) have disastrous long term consequences.

I'm disillusioned. I switched from voting for the GOP all my life to vote for Obama and the Dems and found them to be perhaps more idealistic, but no more effective. At the end of the day, the # 1 thing I care about is my retirement. Right now, Obama is killing it. I used to care about politics, but in the face of my disappearing wallet, all the other issues have melted away for me.

I highly suspect that most Americans feel the same way. Given that assumption, November doesn't look good for the Dems. I probably won't vote at all, but I'll be hoping for a hung Congress. I don't want any of these clowns passing more ineffective legislation and then doing victory laps. FinReg is dead and the Dems are going to declare "mission accomplished". What a joke.
