Well, yes. Technically it was true. The Dems had a super majority. However, as I continually state, the Dems are an ineffective party. They are a coalition of folks, not a party with a true unifying ideology. So when they go to corral the votes they end up having to bribe their own party with earmarks to get anything done.

As you said, the GOP can get more done because they are goose-stepping nazis that vote in lockstep. And if one member strays, they tell that member that he's cut off from the herd and he'll lose his committee position and won't get funding for re-election. That's how they project maximum power, even with a minority party.

At the end of the day, the American people don't want whiners in Congress. We want results. The Dems were given a super majority to get results and they've spend almost the entire last year and a half blaming the GOP for their lack of progress. That will have consequences come November. That's just the way things are.
