I haven't been duped. Its a democracy in the broader sense of the word. A true democracy would be very difficult to put into place in a country with over 300 million people. But I appreciate you sharing what terrifies you. ;-)

i'm terrified that so many people have been duped into thinking our constitutional republic is a "democracy."

the more people who think like you, the less likely the constitution exists - even as a brittle facade.
