Dell would fall in the category of big business, and the study was just based on business in general. This would include, I would think, all forms of business activity....small, self-employed business folk, and expansion of existing business.

In terms of big businesses like Dell, the whole country isn't producing them as much as in the past. Where are the Dells in any state?

The possibility that the US isn't as innovative as it has been in the past is troubling to me and to other trend observers.
