COMP USA Direct (It's an 800 or 888 number mail order) Maxtor 6.4 gig harddrive TODAY for $299.00. Anyone thinking of upgrading their computer? This is the kind of pricing that is killing Western Digital. Check out how much WDC wants for a 5.1 gig harddrive and then ask yourself, which one would you buy? Interestingly, they are selling the drives, just not making any money on them, so people are paying more for Western Digital harddrives in spite of the lower price of competitors. Maxtor seems to be the cheapest drive out there right now. I never see an Fujitsu drives advertised where I shop. Don't read PC Magazine anymore since it always made me want to go out and buy new stuff when I should wait.
