ACTV needs a cable carrier, before they could distribute their signal. Rumor has it that they are close to announcing one, maybe TCI. I hope they do announce one. But would this mean that on Dec 1, TCI says, "Hey! We have this wonderful new channel."? Or would they advertise ahead of time? Reworded: What benefit accrues to IATV and/or TCI (or other cable carrier) by not announcing this union ahead of time and thus gaining publicity so when the service is offered, the customers are there? Marketing types, help me out here, it seems one would want to announce far enough in advance that the customers would talk about it and queue up, but not announce so far in advance that people forgot it.
