Mexico is a riddle wrapped inside an enigma.

A very big part of the economy - drugs - is hidden. Oil exports are down, with the fields and wells becoming substantially less productive. Because of the drug war, tourism is down, though I have not seen hard figures.

So with oil and tourism down, what is propping things up? I speculate that lots of laundered moolah plays a part. Not all, of course, but growth always occurs at the margins.
