so, by your argument, since blacks have had the right to vote since 1870, the blacks have been oppressing themselves since 1870 as they became part of that representative republic at that time. I suspect that some basic reading on the subject of the black vote, particularly in the south, would do you some good...focus of pre and post 1965 Voting Rights Act...of course that's not necessarily the issue, but considering your responses it is probably not a bad place for you to start.
