...white people are still oppressing the minorities. If you are not black, or are not of ethnic background with a record of severe racial discrimination, you probably can't understand the rage that binds them still. We may want to wash that history away, but for them it's palpable and difficult to overcome....and that's what I mean. You may have similar beliefs (hard to imagine anyone not sharing these), but you are articulating them in broad and overarching terms. For example, you said.... I said that it was the people in power who did it. The people in power happened to be white. It was not only people in power...it was widespread. If you live in the south as I do you would realize that lurking just below the surface even today is discrimination, suppressed and/or tangible....and discrimination is indeed a form of oppression. Al
