The economy is in a better place than it was before the stimulus. The freefall did stop. But as I and many others predicted, it wasn't enough to fix the problems. A larger stimulus would work much better. And yes, it might be a stimulus that goes on for a couple of years. Whatever it takes to get things going again... -Z

I just don't see how a person can argue with Morgenthau on this. He was, after all, key to the implementation of the New Deal. "In 1939, ten years after the crash on Wall Street, the Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Morgenthau, Jr., told the House Ways and Means Committee: 'We have tried spending money.
