When you weigh all the factors in determining a new drive for your computer speed is only one factor (all manufacturers are within + or - 10% of each other).

When it comes to quality, I think JTS's 500,000 hrs MTBF (mean time between failure) is the highest.

When it comes to quietness, JTS is the quietest (because of encapsulation)

When it comes to shock resistance (especially important in portables, JTS's withstands the highest shocks: again because of absorbing material built into the encapsulted casing)

AND when it comes to Price JTS is the least expensive.

These are the things that are important to me.... and I imagine anyone interested in Quality, Quietness, and Cost vs. a 1 milli second difference in seek times. (Europeans included)
