I don't think the regulations on volume discounts are going to be a big deal because Intel has no meaningful competition at this time and I don't see any on the horizon. As predicted here by me, AMD has process problems and is delaying BDZer yet again. I expect further delays as well followed by a disappointing product. Intel has been generally holding their pricing, which means there is no pricing pressure. My guess is the final settlement on volume discounts will be much like the JFTC settlement. A business non event.

The real issue is IP and I don't think Intel would accept any deal that requires them to give it away.

Now, I've expressed an opinion. I could be right or I could be wrong. The details remain to be seen. All you've done is snipe.
