BC,

A point I tried to make a few days ago was that one of the reasons the rich are protected is that they pay the majority of the taxes.

If government is extremely small, each person has one vote and very similar power.

If government is large, then there is a correlation between each dollar of taxes you pay and your power in government. There may not be a direct relationship, but those that make a lot of money are in a position to potentially pay large amounts of taxes so they are also in a position to buy off the politicians in order to protect themselves and advance their own agendas.

It is ironic that in expanding the government and taxing the rich, the left has actually handed more power over to them.

Think about that statement carefully because very few people on the left get it.

The rich use the illegal aliens as low pay slaves, so that makes sense.
