Bruce: >>Usually people don't make big bucks on a stock unless they have 1)the smarts to do lots of research and 2) the guts to go against the tide. COMS just may present such an opportunity if you believe in the long term positioning of the company.<<

Yes this is what has given me the confidence to expand my position in the stock when it was falling early in the year. I added to my positionat 50, 45, 41, then started buying USRX as arbitrage indicated it was a better value (don't recall exact figures but 60+, 57, and even into the high 40's rings my head. Then I sold at 54 this October and started to accumulate again at 47, 43, 40 and change yesterday, 3715/16 today, and will continue accumulating into the fall [if it continues.

12% of my equity portfolio is now in COMS. I may be wrong but at least I put my money where my typing is.

Bruce, I agree with your view that
<Remember, cost savings from the merger are just starting to be recognized and will improve over the next year, and inventories will continue to decline to historic COMS levels. >

Synergies and Economy of scales are going to kick in starting this qtr and they should be able to realise some big savings in Overheads and even cut down on some cost-of-sales. Coms is now a six billion (revenue) company as big as Cisco, it's so much easier for it to improve its gross and net profit margin - if the execution is right.

Doom and gloom prediction of coms going to miss the qtr has really no basis at all. With the estimate reduced by most analysts, my wild guess is that Eric will attempt to beat the estimates this qtr. Most probably he had stuffed most dirty linen into last qtr report.

Also, coms had finished its three-month of slowest summer qtrs.

Dear Bruce:

Thank you for the encouraging note. I bailed out about 42 and am looking to go back in in as meaningful a way as I left. I am just looking for a solid bottom. I think the stock is a good buy at this level but what I think hasn't always been good for my pocket in the past. You can't stand in the fire exit when some jerk screams fire and everyone believes him. You have to wait until they are out and then get in before they realize that it was a false alarm. Unfortunately COMS may now become a show me stock before the masses come back to it. There is an awful lot of down volume to be made up here.

I tooo think it is a fine company but alas what does that matter if the big boys don't like it.
