I may be wrong but i do not think the inclusion on the W-2 form is going to cause the health insurance to be added to your income. Most likely this will be provided so that the IRS can assess the Cadillac tax. Otherwise how would the government know who owes it and who doesn't. Not defending them. It is a terrible law, but I believe this information is accurate.

I doubt it will be added to gross income. Rather, it will probably be put in a box for health insurance benefits paid by the employer to see the benefit matches the minimum requirement of law. I think there already is a box for that on the W-2 for your premiums deducted from pay.

I've read the Kiplinger's 13 tax increases before. Only about six of the thirteen are expiring, if I remember correctly. Doesn't make the tax increases better, but it sure makes Kiplinger's list a bit misleading.
