The democratic party was the party of slavery prior to the Civil War and the party of segregation right up to the civil rights movement. So why did the democratic party continue to embrace Byrd considering his racist past? I think that you are a great guy but you are extremely partisan to the point of absurdity. Your commentaries suggest that the democrats have a monopoly on integrity and moral superiority and that republicans are the root of all evil.
