Annual spending by the federal government is a matter of public RECORD. Available to anyone who can read.... (All you need to create a chart of your own then is to PLOT the annual US budgets onto a chart, then connect the data points to make a line... and lastly COLOR CODE the years where Congress was under the control of one party or another, and the years where it was divided.) I can also show charts color-coded not by what political party controlled CONGRESS, but by which political party held control of the White House if you prefer. (But I have posted that chart here several times previously, this is the first time I've posted a chart showing government spending keyed to who held power in CONGRESS.)
