TA: What is your current position on VVUS and PFE?

I am holding PFE and waiting to purchase more at the right dip opportunity.
I have no current position on VVUS. General impression: too volatile (although fun for traders), inexperienced management and dependent on one product in a changing ED market. No doubt money can be made in VVUS, but your timing has to be perfect (both in and out before the inevitable news hits).

TA:<<It's all in the timing Big K>>

Particularly in the case of stocks like VVUS.

The need for proper timing and the subsequent volatility are probably the best explanations of why VVUS attracts short-term traders like Jeff Vinik and scares potential long-term investors.

FYI: I got back into VVUS on Friday with a few long-term calls. I managed to buy at the 21 1/4 low, which as I recalled was a pre-split support level in June (Tuna, didn't you say you say you entered at that level a few months back?). I started putting in limit orders at 25, and I kept lowering my bids as VVUS fell. Once it got into the 21's I held my bids firm and got filled. Sure I recognize that VVUS can go even lower, but at this point I feel the upward potential greatly outweighs the downward pressure.

I haven't been able to keep up with the deluge of posts here, but I'll start following this thread more closely once some news comes out, or earnings are imminent.

Best of luck to everyone.
