They are somewhat. The pols of both parties are in the developers pockets at the state and local levels.

You'll appreciate this: One of the Repiglican Clowngressional candidates for my district is a wenchosaurus named Pam Gorman who was/is in the state senate.

Pammy is a realtor, so of course anything promoting unfettered RE developement and growth is A-OK with here. She scuttled a bill to regulate appraisals which was brought up because of all the fraud during the bubble. Now she's running for Congress (John Shaddegg's old seat), as a campaign stunt she made a video shooting an automatic like she was Jane Dillenger, it looked like she was wrestling a walrus. Apparently she's trying to curry favor with Sarah Palin <Gag, wretch>. I'm for SB 1070, but this lady is totally nuts. Truly evil incarnate. She has no chance of winning, but that's the kind of stuff we have to deal with here.
