Re: Castlewood

Castlewood is Iftikar's new company (started after he "left" Syquest). I believe Syquest and Castlewood still have a number of lawsuits and countersuits that are pending against one another, (for things like stealing trade secrets, libel, etc.).

Michael, Castlewood's ORB looks promising if it can do what it advertised. $30 for 2gig is really really cheap. I assume it is PC compatible in additional for Mac. Does Castlewood has a web site?

The major problem of ORB is that it is from a new company, customer may concern if the media can be easily accessible from major retailers like Office Depot, Staple... What's the point of ORB if you don't have the cartridge. Another concern is the reliability, since packing 2gig data on a single platter is no easy task even with MR head. And we are talking about portable media which must able to survive a great ershock tolerance.

BTW, anyone try out the SparQ yet?

Thanks for your article.
