How many people were shot deat in liquor stores in the past week? At check cashing outlets? In a cash business, it's the same hazard.

Recently there was a woman killed (shot) in a clothing store here in Chicago. Sometimes people get shot by/in/on a grocery store, a church, a gas station, a bank, the woods, the beach, their home.

I know you prefer the current system of millions of non-violent offenders doing time while law enforcement and drug gangs make large sums of money (all paid for by you, in the first case through taxes and in the second through insurance premiums).

I know you prefer the current system whereby if you have a job with insurance or a family with enough money for a lawyer, substance abuse is a medical issue, but if you don't it's a criminal issue.

However, pointing out that someone was shot at a marijuana dispensary isn't an effective argument for criminalization.

And nobody claims that legalizing drugs would lead to heaven on earth, so stop kicking that straw man, por favor.

joseffy,

you got two dead? i have 22,000 dead along the border in the last 4-5 years or so.

if you want to keep 500k non violent offenders in prison, go ahead - AND PAY THE TAB, TOO. but you won't - you want others to pay the tab b/c you don't want to bear the cost of your program.

did alcoholism go up or down once prohibition was ended?

did violence go up or down once prohibition was ended?

btw, since you seem completely void of logic here... how do you know that these killings weren't the illegal drug dealers "taking out the competition," as it were?

you don't, do you?

if so, it bolsters the obvious argument.

how many people get killed every year in erroneous drug raids?

the news had a guy getting shot by a cop over a little pot.

why should the cancer serfs pay $1200 a month for big pharma THC when they can get it for near $0 by growing it?

if nothing else, let the states decide - big brother can get back to doing what the constitution demands of it, like guard the fracking border!
