"And here I thoughts the potheads did claim that legalizing their pot would make heaven on earth."

Really? A lot of serious people have presented good cases for legalizing all drugs. And for differentiating between drug use and drug abuse. Never heard the heaven on earth argument.

Obsessive behavior is damaging. I'm unclear about the moral right to outlaw obsessive behavior generally (food, sex, work, drugs, exercise), and I don't believe it is the most effective way of dealing with it. I do know that making something you don't like illegal makes you feel better/safer.
