RE:fiscally liberal policy and completely out of the realm of the "social" category

There is no fiscal aspect to riding a bike instead of driving a car. Controlling the behavior of societies based on bad science is social not fiscal. Destroying hundreds of thousands if not millions of jobs sounds like a social repercussion to me.
