Morning folks. I think it may be too early to get into an arguement about geological modeling. Vaughns post was basically a rewrite from a
technical paper on Sudbury. Terry Grebs was pointing out that Sudbury is only one example of a base metal deposit, there are many such deposits and each one tends to be unique. ( Every mine on one of these deposits also tends to be unique for that matter. )
So its going to take alot more drilling before anyone has a good handle on what Teck has found to date.

All of the geological masturbation would be ended if Donner would publish some of the results on the 30 or so holes they have drilled since the great wonder hole #75. There is obviously a problem with respect to the continuity of the "zone" that hosts 67 and 75. I got worried about two weeks ago and selfishly became a disinvestor. Sorry, but there something wrong with the play when the time lag between results is this long.

Hi Terrence,

Concerning your post: "your "Geologically educated" opinion does not bear well with most of us I'm sure. I for one wouldn't be as sure as yourself, after all I'm significantly older and have had some of my youthful assertions wrung out of me by sustained exposure and subsequent experience."

I'm truly sorry my +28-years in the mines (e.g., Class of '69, Track Gang, Kennecott's Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah) does not "bear well" on this thread. I'm also sorry about my "youthful assertions"--(sheesh dude, a Maclean's editor (in Nain, '95) wrote that I was the "crustiest, wild-eyed, gray-bearded-geezer" she had ever interviewed)--have not been wrung out yet <grin>.

Please forgive me for sounding so "text-bookish"--I can't help it, dude, as I think we re-wrote all of the "ore-deposit text-books" after nailing the Ovoid. I agree, you gotta work and know mines to find mines--and I've been lucky enough to work (or help discover) a few great mines on five continents.

And hey dude, I like Feline's comments here. I think she adds a certain charm to this thread. I don't think she takes herself too seriously either, and I do not underestimate her experience or insights either.

Best Regards, T. (aka "The Bookish & Youthfully Asserting Geezer")

P.S. Sorry for the tardiness of my post--I'm kinda busy trying to find another ore body <grin>. Wish me luck.
