At what point does a brokerage firm (BF) not covering IDTI start coverage of the company? It's not everyday that a company comes out with a CPU to compete with intel. Are BF's waiting to see who will use the chip before initiating coverage?

According to Zack's (on yahoo's site) BF's following:

CYRX:9 AMD: 21 INTC: 31

AND IDTI: ONLY 5 (3 STRONG BUYS 2 MOD BUY)

Hi CT,
That's one heck of a price/performance package they are offering. Makes me want to think about abandoning my hearty old 386DX 33 workhorse (bought for about $1800!!) for something new!

Best regards, Tom

I like the way IDT is getting the word out about WinChips -- for instance running ads in Computer Shopper and on web sites like web3.dejanews.com.

Article Intel's Bifurcation plan is further proof that Glen Henry
is correct.
news.com

All of a sudden Intel plans on pursuing the "low" end market.
Note: I am going to start calling this the consumer market as
the term low end has a negative connotation. They are redesigning
their PII and extending the life of the P55.Now Intel has to
play catch up for the consumer market. Also they are not going
to go to system on a chip, I totally agree with the reason,
the rate of change for cpu,graphics,i/o controllers, new devices
etc is not the same. When you design in too much functionality
you lose flexibility...Cyrix/NSM fans take note.Anyways it
is really starting to look good for the WinChip long term as
in the next several years.....I still think Intel may buy IDT.
