I do think fright is turning into action. I see the signs of it everywhere, especially at Tea Party rallies. The people who condemn the Tea Party are ignorant or evil. If they do know the truth, they intentionally misrepresent it. I have no respect for them at all.

My wife pines for the Victorian style houses, and her dream is to have a turret on our house, or a house with a turret. Our current house is nice and more than big enough but she still wants that turret if we ever win the lottery. And a gypsy vanner horse.

If we could live another lifetime, we'd probably restore some of those wonderful old houses and live in them. These days there are so many regulations about lead paint and asbestos it would be exceedingly expensive to hire it done, and I do not have the energy to do it myself.

My wife and I have similar interests and likes in houses, furniture, morals, politics, and almost everything. She's the color person and I'm partially color blind so I defer to her on that.

There's one other difference.

My dream is to live simply in a trapper cabin, and I still think about it almost every day. Her dream is to live in a huge fancy Victorian house and have lots of furniture. I like the same furniture she likes, but I'd be just as happy with a table made with a chainsaw and ax.
