The 400 richest families in America, who saw their wealth increase by some $400 billion during the Bush years, have now accumulated $1.27 trillion in wealth. Four hundred families!

Salon.com would like to tax them out of business and out of the country. Maybe the reinstated death tax will help accomplish that.

The truth is that rich folks are a great asset. As of 2007, the top 1% paid over 40% of income tax dollars. Top 5% paid up more than 60%. The lower 50% collectively paid less than 3%.
