The Science Channel had a cool show on folks who take seeds(like mangrove seeds etc.,) wrap them in some fertilizer, dip that ball in wax, and carpet bomb drop them from a chopper into the ground in a perfect pattern. This allows like 1,200 per drop per helicopter, being far more efficient than by hand.
