Inode, wouldn't the solution we advocated, which is basically to let GM and Chrysler fail, cost even more jobs than what the bailout resulted in?

I think that is part of the confusion and misinformation that is used to justify the actions of the Obama. The average guy on the street never considers the fact that GM would have gone through bankruptcy with scarcely a blip in its operations. And there would have been a far more rational evaluation of its operations.

One can argue that shortcutting the process was essential to maintain consumer confidence, but it could have been done in such a way to maximize that value under either arrangement.

I hope someone, someday writes a book that delineates on a daily basis the Obama blunders [a big book, indeed] so that we can have a persistent reminder of just what a disaster this presidency has been.
