What I am seeing is a massive effort by certain states and their leaders to subvert the federal gov't. If it was happening under a R gov't, there would be threats of treason and jail time for those people talking like the way Rs are talking these days. Once again it goes back to the sense of entitlement Rs think they have in this country.


Your conjecture is all well and good but you didn't address the question: What is a state that cannot afford these massive unfunded mandates to do? Should they lay off teachers in order to dump that money into Medicaid? Eliminate the bridge maintenance? What, exactly, should the states do?

You mean like how NY Democrats won't let Obama try KSM in Manhattan? Or how no one wants the Gitmo terrorists brought to their state? Is that the kind of subversion of the federal govt you mean?
