The irony is, we're quickly running out of water for the cooling towers

A day before the climate bill went down, Lew Hay, the C.E.O. of NextEra Energy, which owns Florida Power & Light, one of the nation’s biggest utilities, e-mailed to say that if the Senate would set a price on carbon and requirements for renewal energy, utilities like his would have the price certainty they need to make the big next-generation investments, including nuclear. “If we invest an additional $3 billion a year or so on clean energy, that’s roughly 50,000 jobs over the next five years,” said Hay. (Say goodbye to that.)

while wondering, as always: “Have they no grandchildren?”

Grandchildren are going to have a lot more to worry about than a little more benign CO2 (plant food) in the air.

Horrendous levels of public debt and politically induced energy shortages and higher prices, among other issues, portend real economic pain and dislocation ahead.

When spinmeisters like Friedman begin to address real problems, unlike pushing that stupid, useless and expensive cap and tax farce (which would have zero effect on the climate anyway), then perhaps he might have something worth paying attention to.

In the meantime, it's file 13 for his propaganda...

We’re Gonna Be Sorry

July 24, 2010

As Dr Chu said: "we are boiling the planet."

As you know my son in law has a PHD in atmosphereic chemistry from UC Irving, with his specialty being gas isotopes and works on global warming full time at a major northwest university. He already has several discoveries to his name.

To make this short he tells me over 95% of the top global warming scientists believe in man caused global warming.

NOw the bottom line is that any of us without PHD knowledge of chemistry and physics simple are not qualified to argue with these scientists any more than we can argue with a brain surgeon about the severity of a brain tumor, or its cause.

So we need to believe what the scientists say. But another logical way to look at this subject is say, if there is only a 10% chance it is correct, but if it is correct, we all die shouldn't we take it seriously. We would if it was a large astroid which had a 10% chance of hitting us and wiping us out.

So should we ignore it in that case? And it is a 90%, not 10%.

Yet Friedman is a pro war imperialist.

What a load of hypocritical bs.

How does allowing GS to control energy taxes solve ANYTHING?
