I strongly agree, GZ.

Unions serve no useful purpose whatsoever, except to strong-arm business owners.

In my view, a business owner has the right to run his/her business in any manner that he/she sees fit. That includes establishing the compensation and benefits that he/she will provide to those who freely choose to work for him/her.

The fact of the matter is that no one is forcing the employees to work. They can either choose to accept the conditions of their employer, work elsewhere, or not work at all.

Also, if the employer wants high quality employees, he will compensate them fairly. Otherwise, he may find that he cannot retain good employees. But, the labor market will take care of that, not the government.

The labor market is quite cable of naturally resolving labor issues without any interference from the government or the unions it backs.

The only time the government should intervene is if a company is enslaving people and forcing them to work against their will.
