Last I heard from him on this, LBJ never set a date for beginning to withdraw troops. JFK did. Don't remember Humphrey setting a date in his campaign. Don't remember Nixon giving us anything but his secret plan with no date.
Obama has set a date certain.

I see that Wharfy has already responded. And I will second what he said. Obama has provided the US warmongers a long rope to hang themselves. I would like to see the US succeed against the Taliban. But they won't with the way they are approaching the issue.
