It's not so much the speed, or degree of shock, it's the logical inconsistencies which make some news items unbelievable without fine scrutiny. <Much of what is posted here is breaking news and in today's world a lot of credible news is shocking, so much so that we have become desensitized to it, but getting news on the fast track there will occasionally be false alarms > Leaping to conclusions when something fits prejudices is a common mistake.
