Jerry although a nice and honest guy (brutally honest actuall). (He also lived quite frugally when he was governor. My brother worked on his apartment.) Gore Vidal once accused Brown on his radio show of taking bribes during his presidential campaign. Brown to his credit acknowledged taking campaign contributions from, I forget, the developer of the B-1 bomber. He was pretty up front about having to take the money. It was refreshing at least.

But Meg's right. The unions I'm sure would prefer Brown and California employee union power in California verges on the absurd now days.

In San Diego the Police and Fire unions basically made a deal to support incumbents on the city council and in return got pensions that bankrupted the city.

Worse: The City of Bell scandal. Don't even read it if you have high blood pressure:
