I dunno about that one.. The very well off in any party are not depressed. More likely you see it in the poorer white blue collar conservative male.

Clearly, the rich aren't suffering. In fact, they are doing better than ever. What I meant was they will use the excuse of the poor economy to keep the tax cuts intact. In fact, the Rs have already started beating that drum.

If you sit around all day and watch FOX news you can easily get depressed. If you do stay glued to FOX plus listen to Rush and Glen when driving you were never prepared for the widespread fall out from the phoney housing/credit bubble to begin with. Isn't there something called personal responsibility and rising up rather than expect anything from or blame the government as being a conservative trait? How about being patriotic and doing something positive when our country is/was down the past two years in a much more serious situation than the post 9/11 where the GOP branded anyone as not patriotic for not following their script?

Unfortunately, patriotism these days depends on whether 'your' guy is in the WH. Clearly, for many conservatives, Obama is not the right guy and they refuse to be supportive.....the US be damned. What Rs don't seem to understand is that it works both ways.

Most of the people I see out there with access to capital and positive energy these days looking to make things happen don't appear to be those traditional 'conservatives' anyway so those folks will be marginalized more and more in the real world with their horrible attitude.

I hope you're right.
