It's actually the screen size, 400 wires/inch--so anything that passes thru the 400 mesh screen is somewhat smaller than .0025".

400 mesh is a Tyler standard Screen size. It is somehat smaller than
1/800 of an inch. You have to allow for the wire thickess which is ever increasing in relation to the mesh opening in the small sizes.

Not many mines grind to beyond 200 mesh. It takes more than 4 times the power to get to that size range beyond 200.
